DALLAS – Evan Thompson helped power Florida Atlantic University golf to its best round at the Trinity Forest Invitational on Tuesday, the tournament's final day. The Owls, aided by a career-best 69 from Thompson, carded a third-round 287 to finish ninth at the SMU-hosted tournament with an 888.
Enrique Dimayuga was FAU's top finisher, posting rounds of 71 and consecutive 72s to tie for 11
th.
Davis Lamb played solidly in the first and third rounds with 72s, but a second-round 79 caused him to tie for 36
th. Â Thompson tied for 58
th with a 228 despite his dominant third-round showing.
Alex Maguire (227) and
Sully Zagerman (228) finished 54
th and 58
th, respectively.
The Owls will stay in the Lone Star state for their next tournament, the George Hannon Intercollegiate. The Texas-hosted event will take place March 15-16 in Austin.
