BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team will play two Texas-based tournaments in a week's span, starting with the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas from March 7-9. On March 15, the Owls will begin the two-day George Hannon Invitational in Austin.
Teams will play 18 holes a day at the Trinity Forest Golf Club, a par-71 course with a yardage of 7,330, during the Trinity Forest Invitational. FAU will tee off at 10 a.m. each day. The event's 14-team field includes Abilene Christian, Ball State, Lamar, Little Rock, Louisville, Kansas City, Rice, TCU, No. 14 Sam Houston, No. 18 North Texas, UT Arlington and UTSA. "We have had a great couple of weeks of practice between the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate and our upcoming Trinity Forest Invitational and George Hannon Cup at the University of Texas Golf Club," FAU coach
Ryan Jamison said. "This is the heart of our schedule and our team is ready to take a huge step forward. We need to play with a sense of urgency and go out and get what we have worked for."
The George Hannon Invitational will see the Owls play 54 holes at the University of Texas Golf Club, a 7,412-yard, par-71 course.
In the Owls' last tournament, the Desert Intercollegiate, two individuals earned top-15 finishes.
Enrique Dimayuga tied for sixth with a three-round 212, including a career-best 66 in Round 3. That performance earned Dimayuga Conference USA Golfer of the Week honors.
Evan Thompson, a graduate transfer from Florida Tech, tied for 13
th with a three-round 215.
