BOCA RATON, Fla. – For the second straight midweek, Florida Atlantic University baseball will travel to tangle with a fellow nationally-ranked team, this time to Coral Gables for a Tuesday night tilt with Miami.

The Owls are ranked anywhere from No. 20 to No. 27 after last week's win at highly-ranked Florida on the road, plus a weekend split with Florida Gulf Coast. Miami slots from No. 5 to No. 16, dependent on the poll. Both team's showings are below:

Owls' Weekend in Review
The Owls (8-2) recovered from a shutout loss to FGCU Friday night to bolt out to a 13-0 lead against the Eagles Sunday, and hold off the visitors in a five-run win.

Wilfredo Alvarez is the top Owl in on-base percentage at .453 and leads all C-USA hitters, ranking seventh in Division I, with 16 runs scored.
B.J. Murray is third in the league in runs (13), fifth in RBI (12) and ninth in hits (14), with that latter hit number equaled by Alvarez. Murray is also the team leader and is 12th in the conference with a .674 slugging percentage, and the two are 2-3 in C-USA in walks, with Murray drawing 10 and Alvarez nine.

Mitchell Hartigan leads the team and is 12th in Conference USA with a .375 average, and
Nolan Schanuel is tied for second in C-USA, and is 10th in the country, with 17 RBI, while reaching in each of his first 10 collegiate games.

Owls' Midweek in Preview
After a home series loss to Virginia Tech the previous weekend, Miami (5-4) lost to NC State this past Friday night, then won the last two games in the road set against the Wolfpack, by twin 6-4 scores. Yohandy Morales leads the team in most major offensive categories, with a .359 average, 14 hits, six extra base hits including three HR, and nine RBI.

Opponent History
The Owls have won the last two matchups against UM: In Coral Gables in the third of three midweeks in 2019 (6-4 on April 3), and this past shortened season in Boca Raton, 11-2 over the No. 6 Hurricanes on March 4. The series dates back to 1982, and 83 meetings, led 64-19 by UM. Under Coach McCormack, the edge is just 20-11 in favor of the Canes.
