Hard-Fought Match Doesn’t Fall in Favor of FAU

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team (4-3) returned home, for the first time since Jan. 23, to play host to the University of North Florida (6-4). The battle began on every court with the first serves and didn't end until the final match, with UNF coming away with the 4-3 win.
UNF, the first unranked team to deal FAU a loss in 2021, captured the doubles point, winning on courts one and two. The FAU duo of Katerina Filip and Radka Buzkova captured their match 6-2 at No. 3.
Trailing 1-0, the Owls wasted no time in singles play, taking a 2-1 lead with wins on court No. 6 and 5. FAU would later use a win on court No. 1 to take a 3-2 lead but saw UNF tie the match and shift the attention on court No. 3 where Katerina Filip had split the first two sets. Filip lost serve for UNF to go up 4-2. The Ospreys used that momentum to secure the next two games and clinch the win.
