BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic women's tennis team defeated DePaul 7-0 on Friday afternoon. The win improves the Owls to 6-8 on the season while DePaul falls to 10-8.

THE BEGINNING
The Owls picked up the doubles point with a 6-4 win on the top court courtesy of Panna Bartha and Katrin Pavkova and then the duo of Malwina Rowinska and Maya Shanok won by a 6-2 score on court #3 to clinch the point for the Owls.

THE MIDDLE
Bartha, a junior, cashed in on court #1 with a 6-4, 6-2 win to put FAU up 2-0. Freshman Lucia Cassidy captured court #6 in straight sets at 6-2, 6-0 to pull the Owls to within a point of clinching at 3-0.

THE FINALE
Fellow freshman Alexia Patru clinched the match with a 6-0, 7-6(8-6) court #4 win to assure a win for the Owls, while the three remaining courts elected to play out. Shanok powered past her court #5 foe at 7-5, 6-2 and then joined teammates to cheer for courts #2 and #3. Pavkova, a redshirt freshman, used three sets to pick up her first win on court #2 at 6-3, 2-6, 6-3. Freshman Malika Amirgaliyeva followed suit, on court #3, with a 6-7(8-6), 6-1, 13-11 win to closeout the perfect day for the Owls.
