CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University track & field team closed out the second part of the Hurricane Invitational hosted at the University of Miami's Cobb Stadium on Saturday. The sprinters and jumpers represented the Owls down South and logged a plethora of solid times and finishes.

- Ameion Hamlet won the long jump with a final result of 5.71 meters, which marked a personal record and the fourth best finish in school history. Linsey Moorer took seventh in the event (4.80 meters)
- Hamlet followed up her performance in the long jump with second in the triple jump (11.44 meters)
- Cara Simpson logged second in the 100 meters with a personal record time of 11.92. Madison King followed in fourth with 12.61
- Megan Giovanniello finished the 800 meters in 2:20.47 for second place
- Jessica Lambert won the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.93. Kendall Kirkland took fourth in the event (1:11.94)
- Simpson continued her force in sprinting events by winning the 200 meters with a time of 24.35

"We had another good showing in Miami," said head coach Alex Smoka. "It is exciting to see team members continuously improve and learn from their mistakes of the past. We are looking for even more good performances in the weeks ahead!"

The distance runners will compete at the Vertklasse Meeting hosted at High Point on Thursday.
