BOCA RATON, Fla. – After his outstanding debut performance on Saturday night, Florida Atlantic University freshman catcher Caleb Pendleton has been honored by multiple national publications.
In the hours during, after and since Saturday's game, beyond being featured on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 and "MustSC" segment and Pardon The Interruption (all below), the ESPN "Bottom Line" and on the ESPN.com front page; MLB.com and MLB's Instagram and Twitter; and NCAA.com, NCAA.com with video and NCAA social media – among many other outlets, some even outside the baseball sphere, like Golf Digest, Huffington Post and columnist Peter King's "Football Morning in America" – Pendleton's notoriety continued Monday.

Then, early Monday afternoon, Pendleton was chosen as a candidate for the Golden Spikes Award "Performance of the Week." Despite leading for the majority of the vote, a late social media blitz for another player saw Pendleton finished as runner-up when the results closed Tuesday.
Additionally, since Saturday's postgame when he was interviewed by FAU Owls Nest, Pendleton spoke first on Sunday morning with ESPN West Palm, then had a spate of Monday appearances: with Fifth Quarter, the Palm Beach Post, NCAA.com (below), Joe Frisaro of Man On Second Baseball, Eric Olson of the Associated Press, the Dirt & Sprague radio show in Portland, Oregon, and with Ken LaVicka for the FAU Coaches' Show.
