LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Florida Atlantic University men's swimming & diving team clinched the runner-up title at the 2021 Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Swimming & Diving Championships. The men's team wrapped up the weekend with five podium finishes on Sunday night to finish the championships with 984 points, just 75 behind champion Gardner-Webb. Ryan McIntire was tabbed CCSA Diving Coach of the Meet, while Josh Fountain and Logan Downey claimed Most Outstanding Swimmer and Diver of the Meet, respectively.

Josh Fountain captured his third individual gold medal in the 1650 free, finishing the race on top with a time of 15:47.81. Will Smith also tallied another podium finish with the bronze (15:56.58)
Clay Riemenschneider (16:02.05), Cameron Speed (16:21.88) and Jack Shapiro (16:31.26) wrapped up the 1650 free in fourth, eighth and ninth, respectively
Kyle Douglas earned a hard-fought gold medal in the 200 back, touching the wall at 1:45.91
Garrett Stanley (1:52.18) claimed fifth in the 200 back, while Reilly Maguire followed right behind in sixth (1:52.52)
Alec Peckmann added to his medal count, recording the silver in the 100 free (45.15)
Jackson Kirk just missed the medal stand in the 100 free with a time of 45.39, while Peter Tanner, Jr. followed in seventh (45.79)
Adan Diaz just missed the podium in the 200 breast with a fourth-place finish (2:01.72). Will Henderson (2:05.68) and Carter Januzelli (2:07.02) came in fifth and ninth, respectively
Lucas Kelly finished the 200 fly in fifth (1:50.01), while Skyler Hamilton tallied eighth (1:54.48)
The weekend finished on a high note with the 400 free relay team registering the gold medal. Fountain, Kirk, Tanner, Jr. and Peckmann finished the race in 2:58.43
Downey captured CCSA Most Outstanding Diver of the Meet for the second straight year
Fountain's CCSA Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet is a first for the program
Coach McIntire joins his former coach Yaidel Gamboa, who was named CCSA Diving Coach of the Meet in 2017
