Owls Stand in Third, Mora Breaks School Record

ATLANTA – The Florida Atlantic University women's swimming & diving team completed the first of three nights at the 2021 Conference USA Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday night. After one night of action, FAU is tied with Marshall for third place with 133 points. Alicia Mora became the first Owl to earn a medal this weekend following her record-breaking performance on the 3-meter (336.25) for the bronze medal.

Quick Hits
- The 200 free relay team took fifth place with a time of 1:34.36. Abby Marshall, Maggie Casey, Mackenzie Brown and Micaela Bernard were a part of that finish
- Kirsten Hobson (4:54.87) and Casey finished (4:57.88) in fourth and fifth, respectively in the 500 free. Both swimmers competed in their first meets of the season
- In the B-final of the 500 free finals, Hannah Garner finished in 10th (4:59.42)
- Hailee Trotter captured 16th place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.49
- Mora broke the school record on the 3-meter, earning a score of 336.25 to be awarded the bronze, the first podium finish for the Owls this weekend. Selina Staudenherz followed in fifth with a score of 269.30
- Also on the 3-meter, Alexa Atherholt finished in second in the B-final, 10th overall, with a season-best score of 248.95
- The night finished with the 400 medley relay group earning fifth place. Marshall, Victoria Ellwood, Lauren Wright and Casey finished with a time of 3:49.37
