Owls Close Out Homestand vs. Bobcats

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (2-0) will strive to earn three victories in a row, as the team finishes out the homestand against St. Thomas (Fla.) (11-3, NAIA) on Saturday. First touch is scheduled at 6 p.m. at FAU Soccer Stadium. Admission is free, but limited and first-come, first-serve.
The Owls will hit the road for the first time this season, as they face Jacksonville on Friday, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m. FAU's next home matchup will be on March 13 at 2 p.m. against Kentucky. All game days and times are subject to change.

About the Owls
- FAU has commenced the season with a 2-0 record following back-to-back shutout home wins over North Florida (1-0) and Stetson (1-0)
- Alonso Coello Camarero and Ivan Mykhailenko lead the team in goals with one apiece for two points
- Adrian Levy and Mykhailenko have each taken a team's most three shots
- Neil Strauber has captured back-to-back clean sheets at net, while tallying six saves

C-USA Preseason Team and Predictions
- Coello Camarero and Mykhailenko were chosen to the 11-person C-USA Preseason Team
- Coello Camarero returns for his junior season after becoming the first Owl in the program's days of belonging to C-USA to make the First Team All-Conference. He tallied the second most minutes played in the regular season last year and has been a difference maker on both sides of the ball
- Mykhailenko was a Second Team choice last season. The striker ranked second in C-USA in goals per game (0.44), third in goals (seven) and fourth in points per game (1.06) in C-USA. He was also named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week once last year
- FAU was chosen to finish the league in fifth out of eight teams, a spot they finished in last season
About the Bobcats
- The Bobcats played a memorable fall slate, finishing the campaign 11-3 (8-2 in The Sun Conference), while winning the TSC Championship for the third time in five seasons after knocking down defending champion Keiser
- Seven different Bobcats were named to the All-TSC Team: First Team selections Fernando Arzeno, Federico Landaburu and Juan Manuel Collazo, as well as Second Team picks Felipe Madero, Joaquin Domber, Luis Stalin-Munoz and Federico Zanna
- In 14 games, the Bobcats have scored 37 goals, while holding a 1.09 goals against average
- Arenzo leads the team with nine goals and two assists for 20 points
- Franco Acerbi (7-3-0) leads the way in net with a 1.19 GAA along with 20 saves and four shutouts

- FAU leads St. Thomas in the series, 5-2-1
- In the last meeting of the series in September of 2018, the Owls defeated the Bobcats, 1-0 in double overtime. Blake Dean and Coello Camarero were credited with the assist on Gonzalo Pena Barrasus' game-winning goal in the 110th minute
Last Time on the Pitch
- FAU defeated Stetson 1-0 off a penalty kick from Mykhailenko, which marked his first goal of the season. The Owls were fouled in the penalty box in the 56th minute, which set up for a penalty kick try for the striker
- Defenders Graeme Pratt, Omer Priyov, Daniel Skistad and Luis Sailer Fidalgo played all 90 minutes of the match
- Strauber held it down in goal, tallying four saves in back-to-back shutouts
