BOCA RATON, Fla. – The FAU swimming & diving team will return to competition after a 26-day hiatus on Thursday. The Owls are set to compete in the three-day Patriot Invitational hosted by George Mason from Thursday through Saturday.

The last Patriot Invitational took place in 2019, when the Owls captured second place on both the men's and women's sides. Those finishes were the program's best in the Patriot Invitational in program history. The men's team tallied 772.50 points, while the women's team finished the weekend with 738.50 points.

The Owls are owners of several top times in both the CCSA and Conference USA this season:

Alec Peckmann holds an impressive seven top times in the CCSA, with the top time in the 50 free (20.53), 100 free (45.75), 200 free (1:39.44), Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 50 breast (25.71), 100 breast (55.26), 200 breast (2:04.28), and 200 IM (1:51.43)
- Rateb Hussein has the fastest times in the 50 fly (22.36) and 100 fly (48.60), as well as the second-fastest time in the 200 fly (1:49.31)
- Timo Paisley owns the top spot in the 500 free (4:35.19)
- Dolores Margni is the holder of the second-fastest 200 fly time in Conference USA (2:04.00)
- Maggie Casey's time of 5:05.53 in the 500 free is good for second in C-USA. She also has the third-best mark in the 200 free (1:53.14)
- Maximiliano Ahumada holds the second-fastest time in the 100 back (51.39) and 200 back (1:52.43)
- Nick Shaffer has the second-best time in the 200 IM (1:53.28) and 400 IM (4:01.59), as well as the third-best time in the 500 free (4:36.88)
- Riley Trout's time of 2:03.69 in the 200 back is good for third in C-USA
- The 200 free relay team of Hussein, Peckmann, Peter Tanner, Jr., and Jackson Kirk has the top time of 1:22.48
- The 400 free relay squad of Hussein, Kirk, Peckmann, and Ahumada claims the top time with a mark of 3:02.97
- The 200 medley relay team of Hussein, Tanner, Jr., Shaffer, and Quinn LaCoursiere has the second-best time of 1:31.92
- The 400 medley relay squad of Ahumada, Shaffer, Tanner, and Hussein owns the second-best mark of 3:24.28
Following this weekend, the Owls will return to the pool in 2022 for the home New Year Extravaganza against Army and Old Dominion on Jan. 1.
