Soccer to Host Senior Day against No. 17 FIU

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (8-4-2, 2-2-2 in Conference USA) is set to play host to No. 17 FIU (10-2-2, 5-0-1 C-USA) on Saturday at noon. The team will be honoring eight seniors prior to the start of the match, the Owls' final home contest of the 2021 fall season.

About the Owls
- Going into the final two matches of the regular season, FAU is 8-4-2 with a 2-2-2 league mark. The Owls are an eight-win team for the first time since 2005 and have picked up back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2003 and 2004
- Filip Jauk leads the Owls with eight goals for 16 points. His eight goals is tied for the most in the league
- Luis Sailer Fidalgo holds a team's best six assists, which is the fourth most in the league
- Neil Strauber has started in 14 matches with a 1.46 goals against average, 60 saves (most in C-USA) and four shutouts
- Davide Romeo and Jauk were named to the Top Drawer Midseason Top 100 Freshman List. Romeo came in at No. 44 and Jauk is No. 56
- FAU is sixth in the C-USA standings with eight points
- The Owls average 1.86 goals per game and have the slight edge in shot totals with 164 compared to an opponent's 153
- FAU was projected to finish sixth out of nine teams in the C-USA Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches
- Alonso Coello Camarero and Ivan Mykhailenko were tabbed to the 14-person C-USA Preseason Team
About the Panthers
- The Panthers come into Saturday with a 10-2-2 record and an undefeated 5-0-1 mark in C-USA play
- FIU stands at No. 17 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll
- In the 2021 C-USA Preseason Poll, FIU was chosen to finish fifth
- Stephen Afrifa and Bernardo Dos Santos lead the Panthers with six goals, apiece. Afrifa has a team's most 15 points while Dos Santos follows with 13
