Bagnoli Top Ranked as Owls Head to Lakewood Ranch

BOCA RATON, Fla. – On the eve of the team's final fall tournament, Golfstat has released its first rankings of the season. With three tournament wins under her belt, unsurprisingly, Florida Atlantic University senior women's golfer Letizia Bagnoli is among the top players in the nation. The Owls as a squad are continuing their upward national trajectory as well, and are on their way to Lakewood Ranch to conclude their fourth event of 2021-22.

According to the stat service, Bagnoli is currently the No. 5-ranked overall golfer in all of Division I, and the top-ranked player in the East Region. In addition, her 68.9 stroke average through nine rounds is the fourth-lowest score versus par, and No. 3 in adjusted score.

FAU wrapped up the 2020-21 campaign 102nd as team – the program's highest end-of-year ranking since 2003 – and are keeping that same pace, coming in at No. 101 through their first three events, along with a region ranking of No. 47. Versus par, it's even higher, No. 46 in the country and No. 24 in the region (and No. 43 and No. 21, respectively, in adjusted score).

The Owls are one of just 11 teams nationwide that has earned two or more tournament victories. Their next and last fall event begins tomorrow at the three-day Pat Bradley Invitational in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.

The 15-team tourney will be played at Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club, on the Par 72, 6,285-yard Cypress Links course. Saturday's first round has everyone starting on either Hole No. 1 or No. 10, with the Owls' first golfer scheduled to go off at 8:50 a.m. on the first tee.
