BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (2-4, 0-2 Conference USA) will take on Old Dominion (3-3, 0-2 C-USA) for two games this weekend to open up home league play. FAU is looking to bounce back from two straight losses to defeat ODU for the first time in school history. The series will open up on Friday at 5 p.m. and close out on Saturday at 2 p.m.

- FAU will look for a pair of Conference USA wins in its home conference opening series vs. Old Dominion this weekend. The Owls are coming off two straight tough losses in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and hope to knock off the Monarchs for the first time in school history
- Head coach Jim Jabir is in his fourth season at the helm with his 2020-21 team made up of one redshirt freshman, eight sophomores, six juniors, one senior and one graduate student
- Iggy Allen leads the team by averaging a double-double of 20.8 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game, along with 2.3 steals and 2.8 assists per game to be tied with Alexa Zaph (9.8 PPG) for a team's most dimes (17). Janeta Rozentale averages 9.2 points and 8.4 boards per game, while leading the team in blocks (7)
- FAU leads C-USA in offensive rebounds (17.5 ORPG) and is tied for first in rebounds per game (45.3 RPG). The Owls are nationally ranked 10th and 26th, respectively, in each of the two statistical categories

- FAU and ODU will square off twice this weekend for the 11th and 12th time of the series
- The Owls have never beaten the Monarchs, trailing 10-0 in the series
- FAU faced ODU twice last season, falling in the second of two matchups on the road, 60-49. Juliette Gauthier led the way with a double-double (13 points and 16 rebounds)
- The Owls are 0-4 in Boca Raton, 0-5 in Norfolk and 0-1 at the C-USA Tournament against the Monarchs

- ODU was chosen to finish third in C-USA and received three first-place votes, as determined by the league's head coaches
- Amari Young was one of nine players chosen to the C-USA Preseason Team. She averaged 10.6 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game last season, while tallying 63 steals and 24 blocks
- Ajah Wayne is also a C-USA Preseason Team recipient after averaging 10.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game as a sophomore
- This season, Victoria Morris leads the way with 18.8 points per game and 19 assists
- Young is averaging a double-double (16.0 PPG and 10.3 RPG), while having a team's best 15 steals
- Wayne puts up 12.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game
- ODU has the league's best assist/turnover ratio (1.1)

- The Owls fell to the Lady Raiders in heartbreaking fashion on Saturday, 66-64
- FAU was leading 58-48 with five minutes left in the game, but were unable to hold on, dropping their 21st straight game against MT
- Rita Pleskevich led the Owls with career highs in points (18) and rebounds (8), while playing all 40 minutes
- Iggy Allen followed with 17 points, eight rebounds and a career-high four steals
- Alexa Zaph was the third Owl in double digits with 10 points and four boards
- Sofia Galeron came off the bench to tally eight points and three assists

- The first defeat over ODU in school history after starting out 0-10 vs. the Monarchs
- The team's first C-USA win of the season
- A two-game losing streak will be snapped
