Boltinskaya Named C-USA Player of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Natalia Boltinskaya of Florida Atlantic University women's tennis has been named the Conference USA Female Athlete of the Week, as announced by C-USA on Wednesday.

Boltinskaya defeated No. 102 Selma Cadar (6-2, 6-4) at No. 2 singles to earn the team's lone point in FAU's season-opening match against No. 9 Miami. Boltinskaya and teammate Louie McLelland came up short in their doubles match, falling 6-2. The duo worked together the following morning to conduct virtual tennis lessons for children with autism. Wheelen's Wisdom

"This honor means a lot to FAU because Natalia has given herself to the school in every aspect," said Caroline Wheelen, FAU's head coach. "She has been doing all he little things right in her life. It's great when a young person can be rewarded for patience and hard work. I'm super proud of her accomplishment. She gives hope to young girls that if you work hard you'll be rewarded."

Next Up

The Owls will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada where they are scheduled to play three matches in three days beginning on Feb. 5. Matches are scheduled for 10 a.m. each day.
