BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Atlantic Sun Conference is in the midst of naming All-Decade Teams, from 2000-09, for its various sports. On Friday afternoon, the league released the women's soccer team, and four Florida Atlantic University players are represented within.
The Owls were members of the ASUN from 1993 to 2005, and experienced unprecedented success, specifically, in the last six seasons within that span (2000-2005). Each of those years, the team won at least 11 matches, with a cumulative record of 85-28-6 overall, and a 49-8-3 mark within conference play. That led to three ASUN regular season titles (2002, 2003 and 2005), the 2005 ASUN Tournament championship, and the program's only NCAA Tournament appearance, also in '05.
All of these team honors allowed for the quartet of Denise Brolly, Krista Fine, Rhonda Jones and Susanna Lehtinen being named to this ASUN All-Decade Team. Here is more on each of those four players:

Denise Brolly (2003-05)
Honors: All-Region Second Team 2005; First Team ASUN All-Conference 2004 and 2005; Second Team ASUN All-Conference 2003; ASUN All-Tournament 2005; One ASUN Offensive Player of the Week nod
Record Book: Finished first all-time in career points, now ranks fourth (64); was third in goals, now sixth (24); was tied as the all-time leader in assists, now third (16)

Krista Fine (2000-03)
Honors: First Team ASUN All-Conference 2002; Second Team ASUN All-Conference 2001 and 2003; ASUN All-Tournament 2001 and 2003; Twice was named ASUN Defensive Player of the Week
Record Book: Defender finished her career fourth all-time in games played (72) and sixth in games started (56)

Rhonda Jones (2000-03)
Honors: 2003 ASUN Player of the Year; All-Region Three Times (Second Team 2002, Third Team 2001 and 2003); First Team ASUN All-Conference 2001, 2002, 2003; ASUN All-Tournament 2000 and 2001
Record Book: Finished her career third in points, now seventh (58); was fourth in goals, now eighth (22); was second in game-winning goals, now fourth (7); was second in assists, now sixth (14)

Susanna Lehtinen (2004-07)
Honors (for just 2004 and 2005, while Owls were in the ASUN): 2005 ASUN Player of the Year; 2004 ASUN Freshman of the Year; All-Region Third Team 2005; First Team ASUN All-Conference 2004, 2005; ASUN All-Freshman 2004
Record Book: Still to this day is the Owls' all-time record holder in career points (88), assists (36, double the player in second-place) and game-winning goals (11); is fourth in goals (26, was second when her career finished)
To be named to the All-Decade Team, an individual must have competed for at least two years in the decade as an ASUN student-athlete. Individuals that obtained one of the following criteria were named to the team: three First Team All-Conference selections, four All-Conference selections, multiple Scholar-Athlete/Player of the Year honors or ASUN Hall of Famer. Individuals that obtained at least two of the following criteria were also named to the team: Player/Freshman/Defensive Player/Goalkeeper of the Year, three All-Conference selections, or two First Team All-Conference selections.
