Football’s John Mitchell Nominated for Campbell Trophy

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University senior wide receiver John Mitchell has been nominated for the William V. Campbell Trophy, as announced by the National Football Foundation via Twitter.
The award honors an individual who is in his last year of competition, holds above a 3.2 grade point average, is a starter or significant contributor, proves superior academic application and performance, and provides leadership and community citizenship.
While the life of a student-athlete can prove difficult, especially in today's climate, Mitchell has mastered the skills of time management needed to excel in all facets of being a biological science major, on a pre-med track, as well as being a contributing member of a two-time Conference USA championship football team. All of this while being a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, FAU's SAAC and participating in leadership committees, such as the FAU Athletics Inclusion and Equity Advisory Panel.
Mitchell played in every 2019 contest, recorded 38 receptions, tallied 488 yards and scored five times, including a season-changing three times at Ball State.
