Sigourney Kame Awarded C-USA Postgraduate Scholarship

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University volleyball player Sigourney Kame has been named the school's recipient of the Conference USA Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarship, the league office announced on Thursday.

Kame, who recently graduated with a degree in exercise science and health promotion, was a two-time member of the C-USA All-Academic Team. She succeeded on the court as well, joining Lori Lombard as the only players in school history to be named All-Conference four times. Kame finished her career third in FAU history with 1,171 kills and eighth with a .276 career hitting percentage.

"I thank God for earning the C-USA postgraduate scholarship and I am super grateful for the amazing support from my coaches and the entire FAU athletic department," said Kame.

She follows in the footsteps of these previous FAU recipients:

2019 – Diamond Johnson, Baseball
2018 – Raven Doyle, Women's Basketball
2017 – Bianca Biglione, Women's Tennis
2016 – Derek Moise, Football

About the C-USA Postgraduate Scholarship Program
The 11th annual award is named in honor of Dr. Jim Castañeda, who served Rice for 46 years as an educator, coach and Faculty Athletics Representative before he passed away in 2008. Every season, C-USA grants the $4,000 scholarship to distinguished graduates selected by the league's Faculty Athletics Representatives and approved by the Board of Directors.
