BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University softball team will open up their 2020 C-USA action this weekend at Charlotte. FAU will face the 49ers on Friday with the first pitching coming in at 3 p.m., following with a 1 p.m. game on Saturday and closing out with noon start on Sunday at Sue M. Daughtridge Stadium in Charlotte N.C. Â

- The Owls have started off the 2020 season with a 6-11 overall record while being 2-5 at home
- After The Spring Games at Madeira Beach FAU went 2-3, with the most recent win coming against Incarnate Word defeating the Cardinals 3-2.Â
- During the tournament, the Owls had four extremely close games the closest game being a 3-2 9 inning game resulting in a 3-2 loss against South Alabama to close out the tournament.Â
- Freshman, Sara Berthiaume leads FAU batting a .419 overall with 13 hits and eight RBIs
- Kaitlyn Burke who brought in the only two runs in the final game against Jags supports a .346 batting average with 18 hits, three doubles, and 12 RBIs to lead the Owls in hits and RBIs
- In the circle, Kara Lokeinsky owns a 3.63 ERA pitching 17.1 innings, while Abigail Morgan is close behind with a 4.30 ERA. Both Lokeinsky and Morgan each earned a win over the weekend
- FAU is looking to improve upon a 20-30 (7-17 C-USA) season in 2019. The Owls missed the conference tournament for the first time
- The team welcomes 12 newcomers, as well as brings back 11 players and four everyday starters

- The Owls went 2-3 over the weekend during The Spring Games at Madeira Beach tournament winning the opener against Seton Hall 9-3 but fell in three close matches against Miami (OH) 4-3, Iowa 6-5, and South Alabama 3-2 in nine innings. The final win came against Incarnate Word 3-2 on the second day of the tournament
- Berthiaume shined this past weekend going 7-16 with four RBIs. Berthiaume hit her first collegiate triple against Seton Hall, double against UIW, and brought in a career-high of three runners batted in against the HawkeyesÂ
- In the circle, Morgan, and Lokeinsky each collected a win over the weekend. Morgan pitched a complete game against Seton Hall her second of the year; also earned a season-high of seven strikeouts in the win.
- Lokeinsky collected her second win of the season against Incarnate Word pitching 3.2 innings with three strikeout outs for season-high
