ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University men's tennis and UCF faced off Saturday at the USTA National Campus, with the Knights prevailing by a 5-2 score.
Notables:
- The No. 33 Knights (5-3) recorded the doubles point. They would clinch with the first three decisions on the singles courts, though the fourth point came after a long tiebreak
- That was Gerard Escandell on No. 6, who fell in the first set, 7-6 (10-8)
- FAU (5-10) notched the next tally, as No. 4 Yovan Lambros came back for a three-set win (3-6, 6-3, 6-2)
- No. 3 went to three sets as well, with both a second-set and a 10-point third-set tiebreaker. Alvaro Fernandez Horta was edged out, 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 5-10
- The final point went the Owls' way, Filip Krolo at No. 5: 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (7-3)
