BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (10-12, 4-7 C-USA) returns back to Abessinio Court at FAU Arena to face Southern Miss (11-11, 3-7 C-USA) on Thursday. The Conference USA matchup is set for 7 p.m. and has a big impact on the conference standings.
About the Owls
The Owls snapped a three-game losing streak at FIU on Saturday with a 64-61 overtime victory over the Panthers. The win also broke a five-game road losing swing to give the Owls their away win since Jan. 2 at UTSA
Saturday's win also gave head coach Jim Jabir his 500th career victory. Jabir is now the 36th active Division I women's collegiate basketball coach to have 500+ wins

Respect Leaphart follows with 14.1 points per game and a team-leading 6.0 rebounds per game
Daishai Almond has been an effective ball distributor with 96 assists, while Alarie Mayze leads the Golden Eagles with 40 steals

The seventh meeting between FAU and Southern Miss will take place Thursday
FAU has beaten Southern Miss just once, with that time coming on Feb. 23, 2018 in an 89-74 feat at home
