Coach Baker Then (
Full video)
"I was really proud of our girls today. We talked about being 'good losers,' and applying a lot of the things that we learned from a very disappointing performance and loss at Louisiana Tech on Friday. They took in the video, took in the scouting report … and we were just a lot more like ourselves today, which was nice to see."
Â
Coach Baker Reflects Back Now
"Another Sunday afternoon, 1 p.m. kickoff, extremely warm. I remember we used something like 20 players in the first half, it was so hot. Some people even played out of position just to give us the minutes to get through to halftime.
Â
"Our first goal that Mary hit was probably one of our top four goals of the year; unfortunately, they scored off the kickoff, so there was no momentum in our favor. In fact, it probably went to them. But in the second half, our quality really showed. Tiril gave us a phenomenal individual effort for the insurance goal."
Â
Key Moment or Stretch
"This was just a gut check after the disappointment of Friday at Louisiana Tech. Rebounded well, responded well. But the true moment was T's goal, it gave us three and the insurance goal – similar to (the goals) against Marshall – it was a separation that we needed."
Â
Key Player – 'Team effort'
"Going back to the first half, this was just a total team effort. We utilized so many players in the game because of the heat and because of the travel. It was our second away weekend, and everyone did their part throughout the 90 minutes."
