"Pleased because we've got another – back-to-back – year of a winning record on the road in conference play, which is not easy. To come out of our conference road trips at 3-1-1 and now we've got three really good games at home in front of us with a lot at stake."
Â
Coach Baker Reflects Back Now
"Another back-to-back road weekend … I thought this was some of our best soccer. I look back at our session the day before, we were sharp and it just translated. Even though we only had one goal in the first half, we had some great looks. Ultimately, Gi (Krstec) got us on the board first.
Â
"Mary (O'Hara) could have had two or three goals (in the first half), and her goal in the second was exquisite, just to bring the ball down in traffic and turn and score. It was nice for Elisha (Holmes) to get on the board too."
Â
Key Moment or Stretch
"I remember the backline being tremendous that game. You're dealing with Peyton DePriest (the reigning 2018 C-USA Offensive Player of the Year, who would eventually win the award in 2019 as well), a quality attacking player, and I thought we did a nice job limiting really good looks for her. Also, we really got at their end line, anytime you get 10 corner kicks against anybody, that's huge. Besides that and the defending, Mary's insurance goal allowed us to be a little more relaxed."
Â
Key Player – Alex Maxson
"Alex was great on the ball and distribution. She was the leader in diminishing one of their great strengths (DePriest had just three shots, and just one on goal), and you don't get much acclaim for that as a defender. The last three years, Alex has taken it personally to do her part against their attack."

Standings – 4th place, two points back
