"We are very excited about our results today," said head coach
Alex Smolka. "Jessica [Lambert] looked great in her first ever pentathlon, Cara [Simpson] set a PR in the triple jump and looks like she is poised to continue to improve a great deal! Reneé [Shaw] had a breakout race in the 60m hurdles. Mikaela [Jonsson] and Madlen [Kappeler] ran strong miles and are now amongst the leaders in the conference. Lauren [Macon] set a huge PR in the mile, which bodes well for her distance races. Overall, it is very obvious that progress is being made across the board and that is exciting. We are looking forward to some strong performances tomorrow!"
