The Owls competed at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational hosted by the University of Houston two weekends ago.
Anne-Catherine Wasser tallied third place in the 400m dash, as
Jessica Lambert followed in fourth (58.34) in her first collegiate indoor race.
Mikaela Jonsson captured fourth in the 800m run (2:15.52), while
Lyric Schmalz advanced to the finals in the 60m hurdles for the third consecutive meet and placed sixth place in the finals (8.83). In field events,
Cara Simpson logged a personal record in the long jump with sixth place (5.51m), as well as the fourth best finish in school history. The sophomore followed that up with a fifth place finish in the triple jump (11.62m).
Â
FAU competed at both meets last season. While a team score was not compiled at the Crimson Elite, the Owls finished sixth at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invite, just one point behind fifth-place George Mason. Last year,
Mikaela Jonsson picked up sixth place in the 1-mile on Harvard's track, while
Searra Woods tallied ninth in the 400m dash (57.67) at BU.
Â
The Owls will compete at the South Carolina Invitational on Feb. 7-8 to signify FAU's final indoor meet before the Conference USA Indoor Track & Field Championships.
