TEXARKANA, Ark. – The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team wrapped up the 2018-19 campaign on the final day of the Conference USA Championship. The Owls shot a 299 in the final round to finish in 12th place with an overall score of 899 (+35). That score is the lowest the Owls have shot in the C-USA Championship since joining the league in 2013.
"It was obviously not our best week, but I'm proud of the steps our guys took this year and this week. We played this week with two freshmen, two sophomores and one junior. A young group but we definitely gained a lot of experience and positive feelings from this week. We took a huge step in the right direction and the future of Owl golf is very bright."
- Patrick Poate finished out as the FAU leader, carding a 74 for the third round to finish 6-over and tied for 33rd overall. Poate had three birdies on his final nine holes and finished the tournament with nine total
- Karan Nalam was the next Owl on the leaderboard, tied for 38th place. Nalam shot a 75 for the third round and finished 9-over the tournament. He had 10 total birdies for the week including three on the final four holes of the back nine
- Sully Zagerman moved up the board on the final day to finish tied for 40th. Zagerman carded his best round of the tournament on Tuesday with a 74 to finish 10-over for the week. He birded holes one, four and 17
- Lynes Behling finished 12-over and tied for 47th place after carding a 77 on Tuesday
- Bruce Morrison, Jr. had his best round on the final day, shooting a 76 for round three to finish 22-over and tied for 63rd place
