BOCA RATON, Fla. –
Sully Zagerman of the Florida Atlantic University men's golf team has been named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team. Zagerman joins four other members representing the 13 C-USA schools.
"I am super excited for Sully and all he has been able to accomplish this year," said head coach
Ryan Jamison. "To win an award like All-Academic, in my opinion, you have to be a complete student-athlete. A lot of times in sports, many athletes think that being great at academics and a great athlete are mutually exclusive. This couldn't be further from the truth and I'm very excited to see Sully proved this with his accomplishments this year. In a deep league like C-USA, this is a huge accomplishment for Sully. Go Owls!"
The Windermere, Florida native showed his dedication to being more than just an athlete by logging the highest amount of community service hours all of FAU male athletes during the 2018-19 academic year. Zagerman is also an active member of FAU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
In the classroom, the junior holds a 3.72 grade point average as an international business and trade major. Zagerman has earned Athletic Directors Honors every semester.
On the course, Zagerman has been just as impressive. He's been the Owls' top golfer in four events this season including four top-10 finishes. He currently owns the third and fifth best 54-hole scores in program history and tied the fifth lowest single round score at FAU's home tournament in March.
Zagerman and the Owls will be back on the course April 24-26 at the C-USA Championship in Texarkana, Arkansas.
