Men's Golf Tied for Second After Day One of FAU Spring Championship

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team showed off a home-course advantage on day one of the FAU Spring Championship at Osprey Point Golf Course. The Owls finished round one tied for second place alongside UCF and four strokes back of Bethune-Cookman.

Round two of the Championship will get underway on Saturday at 10 a.m. FAU will begin teeing off at 11:40 a.m. Fans wanting to keep up with the second day of the tournament may do so using Golfstat.

The Owls shot 286 (-2) for the first round, putting them in a tie with UCF for second place
Sully Zagerman was the top Owl on the leaderboard, carding a 69 for the round. He heads into the second day tied for fourth place overall
Lynes Behling finished the first round two strokes back from Zagerman, shooting a 71. He ended the day tied for eighth place. His first-round 71 is his best single round score of his collegiate career so far
Eric Dekarski had his best round of the spring, carding at 73 for the day. Patrick Poate also shot 1-over par for the day, tying he and Dekarski for 21st place
Karan Nalam rounded out the team scores, shooting 75 for the round
Brian Dolehide and Bruce Morrison, Jr. are competing in the tournament as individuals. Dolehide had a 76 in the first round and Morrison shot a 77
