BOCA RATON, Fla. – Winners of 13 of their last 15 games, including a 5-1 mark thus far in Conference USA play, the Florida Atlantic University baseball team has a brief four-game homestand this week, beginning with the squad's annual home matchup versus Miami on Wednesday night.
This is one of three premium games this season at FAU Baseball Stadium. Gates will open early, at 4:30 p.m., and the night of excitement will be brought you by Funky Buddha Brewery, the official craft beer of FAU Athletics:
Owls' Weekend in Review
The Owls (16-8, 5-1 C-USA) increased the team's season-best win streak to 10 games with victories in the first two over UAB in Birmingham over the weekend, but couldn't make a late comeback in falling Sunday, 6-5. Both
Pedro Pages and
Andru Summerall hit .636 during the series, each going 7-for-11, and raising their season averages to .341 and .315, respectively. Six regulars are now hitting .300 or higher, and the team is at .307 overall, ranking the Owls No. 15 in all of Division I (as well as eighth in doubles, 13th in hits, 16th in home runs and 17th in slugging percentage).
Owls' Midweek in Preview
Miami (15-9, 3-6 ACC), two weeks ago, was 15-3, but have fallen in each of their last six matchups, including a sweep at home this past weekend by then-No. 5 NC State. Like the Owls, the Hurricanes also boast some impressive offensive numbers, including ranking 10th in the country with 30 home runs as a team, led by Alex Toral's 11, fifth-highest among all individuals.

Opponent History
Earlier this year, UM took an 11-4 decision in Coral Gables, snapping a three-game losing streak to the Owls. Toral had two home runs, and Cecconi picked up his first collegiate win in five innings of work. Over the last 12 games, covering the last four years, the Hurricanes hold a slim 7-5 advantage, and overall, it's 63-17. Next week, the two teams will meet for the third and final time this regular season. The matchup will take place in Coral Gables, on Wednesday, April 3 at 6 p.m.
