Florida Atlantic University freshman
Martina Kudelova capped off her first collegiate "Spring Break" by winning Conference USA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Â
Kudelova and the Owls played five matches in nine days and will close out the 2019 regular season with four more matches in six days, to conclude an 13-match homestand spanning 21 days.
Â
The last week has seen the Owls earn victories over C-USA opponent Charlotte, which started the run, as well as Boston University. Kudelova was 4-1 at No. 1 singles, including a big individual win over Gabriela Knutson, ranked No. 42 nationally, who leads Syracuse, ranked No. 29. Kudelova's fourth victory of the stretch was a three-set thriller with the Czech Republic native taking the third set 7-5 to hold off Liberty and give the two remaining courts the opportunity to finish their matches and give the Owls a chance for the win. The three-set win came on the heels of three matches in two days.

Â
Kudelova was 2-2 in doubles play through the same span. She holds an 8-4 singles record since joining the team in January. Kudelova is 6-3 on court one and is 4-4 in doubles play, teaming with two partners.
