BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (5-18, 2-9 C-USA) will take on North Texas (12-11, 5-6 C-USA) on Thursday to begin a four-game road stretch.

ABOUT THE OWLS
- The Owls begin a four-game road stretch starting at North Texas on Thursday. Their trek continues at Rice on Saturday. FAU will then play at FIU (Feb. 23) and Middle Tennessee (March 2)
- Through 24 games, Juliette Gauthier is leading the Owls in scoring with 10.9 points per game. Myka Johnson Matthews is close behind, averaging 9.7 points. Abby Voss leads on the rebounding front, pulling down 6.0 boards per game. Glenisha Harkless has 46 assists on the season to lead the team
LAST TIME OUT
- The Owls hosted UTEP and UTSA last week, splitting the two games
- FAU struggled offensively against UTEP and came up short, 70-44
- Gauthier led the Owls with 14 points and fi ve rebounds against the Miners. Johnson Matthews joined Gauthier in double digits with 12 points
- The Owls seemed to get into a groove against UTSA, topping the Roadrunners 86-70
- Jamaria Williams had a career game, scoring 29 points and pulling down six rebounds. Gauthier record her second 20-plus point of the season with 24
SERIES HISTORY
- Thursday will be the 16th meeting between FAU and North Texas
- The Owls own a 9-6 advantage in the series, but have lost three-straight to the Mean Green
- FAU has won five of eight games in Denton in the series
- In the last meeting, North Texas defeated FAU, 65-51, in Boca Raton
- The first meeting came during the 2006-07 season in Denton. After dropping the fi rst two contests to North Texas, the Owls won eight straight against North Texas
SCOUTING NORTH TEXAS
- The Mean Green are also coming off a split weekend with a win at WKU and a loss at Marshall
- North Texas is led by Terriel Bradley who is averaging 16.8 points per game. That mark is fourth in C-USA. Anisha George averages 11.3 points per game and has a team-best 8.0 rebounds per game mark
- The squad will be coming off one of its best games this season, registering season highs in points, field goal percentage, 3-point percentage, rebounding margin and tied for blocks against WKU last Saturday
