BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University football team brought fresh legs into Tuesday's practice, typically the hardest day of work for the Owls, and following practice, players commented that it was one of the best Tuesday practices the team has had all year.
Could be the mid 70-degree weather. Could be returning from the second bye week of the 2019 season. Either way, it was a good practice for the Owls, who will travel to UTSA this weekend for a game that continues to hold league title implications.

Post Practice
Chris Robison What stands out about (UTSA defensively) and this particular game?
The defensive line. Like I say every week, our coaches put us in the best position, best plays and everything like that. I think the thing we need to watch out for is the defensive line, the stunts they run – just how they play. They play really well.
On FAU not controlling their own destiny:
We don't control our destiny when it comes to the conference championship, but for the next two games, we still control that. That is what we are worried about, winning these next two games.
On Harrison Bryant being a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award and playing with him the last two years:
It has been unbelievable. I trust him 100% on everything. He even got me right when it comes to a play call…He knows the whole offense in-and-out. He is a great ball catcher. He makes big plays when we need him.
Harrison Bryant on semifinalist consideration for the John Mackey Award
It is cool to receive (the recognition). I'm still trying to stay focused on the year and finish out strong. It wouldn't be possible without my teammates, all the coaches and the support staff here. They have really helped me out the last few years.
Is it mind boggling that you are considered as one of the top eight tight ends in the country?
I'm confident in myself, but these awards are not for me to judge…it is pretty cool that people are recognizing me as that. It is just a lot of hard work that is paying off.
Chris Bonner "All my co-workers looked at me crazy, and now they ask me how I do what I do," Bonner said. "And that's part of being 100 percent confident in yourself. And I feel like that's what we had to have (with FAU football)."

Tight end John Raine talks about receiving an additional year of eligibility from the NCAA, which will allow him to return for the 2020 season. Former Owl defensive end Haiden Nagel, now a part of the world renowned FAU MBA sports management program, is featured, plus the "best plays of 2019" (thus far) and predictions for the return of junior running back BJ Emmons, who missed much of the season rehabilitating a broken ankle suffered in the opening minutes of the 2019 season opener.
