Bryant Named Mackey Award Semi-finalist

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University's senior tight end Harrison Bryant has been named a semi-finalist for the 2019 John Mackey Award.
Bryant is one of eight to remain in consideration for the honor that recognizes the most outstanding collegiate tight end. The award recipient will be announced on Dec. 11 and presented live on Dec. 12 at The Home Depot College Football Awards Red Carpet Show which will air 6 p.m. on ESPNU. The finalists will be named on Nov. 25 and can be found at www.johnmackeyaward.com and on twitter at @JohnMackeyAward.
The Georgia native currently leads all Division I tight ends and the Owls with 708 receiving yards. He has 48 receptions on the year and has added two touchdowns. Bryant is listed along with Hunter Bryant (Jr., Washington/647 Rec. Yards, 3 TDs), Brycen Hopkins (Sr., Purdue/561 Rec. Yards, 3 TD), Brevin Jordan (So., Miami/495 Rec. Yards, 2 TDs), Charlie Kolar (So., Iowa State/549 Rec. Yards, 7 TD), Albert Okwuegbunam (Jr., Missouri, 306 Rec. Yards/6 TD), Colby Parkins (Jr., Stanford/492 Rec. Yards, 1 TD) and Giovanni Ricci (Sr., Western Michigan/611 Rec. Yards, 8 TD).
Bryant has been instrumental in leading the Owls to a 7-3 record. FAU will travel to UTSA Saturday for a 6 p.m. contest and will close out the regular season schedule at home by hosting Southern Miss on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 3:30 p.m. Fans can listen to the action on 640 AM Fox Sports South Florida.
