BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University football team (5-3, 3-1 Conference USA) used a 41-3 victory over Old Dominion last Saturday to keep their Conference USA Eastern Division hopes, as well as a potential bowl berth, alive as they began preparation for this weekend and WKU (5-3, 4-1 in C-USA) on Tuesday.
While FAU holds the 9-3 all-time edge over WKU, no game could potentially be more important than this Saturday's contest in Bowling Green where the Owls will need a victory to keep their quest for a second C-USA Championship alive. A win also would make the Owls bowl eligible for the fifth time in 19 seasons.
The game, which will be the 13th meeting between the two schools, is scheduled for 4 p.m. and will be a part of the ESPN+ live stream package. Fans can also tune into Fox Sports 640 South Florida.

Players Perspective
Nick Tronti Working on patience:
"That is something that I have always had to get better at, my whole life really. I played baseball growing up. Whenever I throw the ball, I try to throw the ball as quick as I can and as hard as I can. Patience is something I really have to work on. As the years go on and the weeks go on that will be a big emphasis for me.
As the games go, it is almost like playoffs. Is that the way you look at it?
"For sure. We have to win every game we can and at this point we have to hope that somebody loses or something like that. The only thing we can do is to control what we can control and try to come out every week 1-0."
Willie Wright On returning from an injury:
"It is just a process. I had to go through it. Everybody has to go through it. I had to get my mind back in the right place. Not let the little things get to me. I found my groove back and I'm still just working to be there for my team. Any way that I can help them, I'm going to do it."
When did the process start?
"About four games into the season. I had to realize it is not about me. I have to work better, working with the team and be a team player. Whatever role I've got, I have to do whatever I have to do."
Because of the way D-Lo [Deangelo Antoine] was playing, did you ever think of taking the year as a redshirt?
"That wasn't the deal. D got the starting job. He was doing his thing. He was hot. Now, I'm trying to get hot. Now both of us can be on the field and what we can do for the team."
On it being a rotation between the receivers on who has a big game:
"It is all about the process. Keep working until your time comes. The light is going to shine."
How supportive was Coach DJ [DJ McCarthy] during that process?
"He always told me to keep working. It is going to come. He has stayed after practice with me, throwing balls. [So that] I can work on my game. After a while, it just started coming along."
Is there a moment where it started clicking again, where you were like your old self?
"It all started with Coach [Lane] Kiffin. He made me get out of my comfort zone. Now, I'm comfortable being uncomfortable. He made me take off the dark visor. He made me take away the little things. He moved me to third string so that I was uncomfortable. Now, I'm comfortable being uncomfortable and it all started with Coach Kiffin."
Where are They Now
Zach Wichner ""They were very open to me trying to get into med school, and they understood that I probably had a higher course load than some of the other athletes," said Wichner, whose teammates jokingly nicknamed the witch doctor.
