– The Florida Atlantic University men's and women's swimming & diving team will be back home Friday afternoon to host Indian River State. The meet will commence at 3 p.m. at FAU Aquatic Center with admission free to all fans.

The Owls faced Indian River State in Fort Pierce, Florida last season with FAU accumulating 13 first place finishes. On the women's side, several Owls captured first place feats, including
Spence Atkins in 500 and 1000 freestyle,
Fatimah Westbrook in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke, as well as
Danica Garbett in the 100 butterfly and 200 IM. Garbett also came away with Conference USA Swimmer of the Week honors for her performance.
Sharon Kok (200 freestyle) and
Abby Marshall (100 backstroke) claimed first-place titles to help the Owls claim a 181-119 victory over the Pioneers.

On the men's side, the Owls fell 186-113, but were able to sweep Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Swimmer and Diver of the Week honors after
Alex Taber claimed three second-place finishes (100 and 200 backstroke and 200 IM) and
Logan Downey won the 1-and 3-meter events.
Braedan Leach also tallied first in the 200 backstroke.

FAU participated in the TYR Fall Classic a few weeks ago along with a competitive field of teams, including Pitt, LSU and TCU. Atkins came away with second place in the 200 butterfly (2:03.34), while
Mackenzie Brown took fourth in the 50 freestyle (24.00). On the boards,
Malvina Catalano tallied fifth in the 1-meter, while
Alicia Mora took sixth in the 3-meter. The women finished in seventh with a score of 332 points.

For the men,
Josh Fountain claimed a top finish with second in the 500 freestyle (4:32.86), while third-place titles were claimed by freshmen
Kyle Douglas in the 200 backstroke (1:51.22) and
Rateb Hussein in the 100 butterfly (1:52.12).
Michael Cannatelli scored third-place in the 3-meter (300.15) and fifth in the 1-meter (248.25) to be awarded CCSA Diver of the Week for the second consecutive week. The men scored 338 points to take seventh.

FAU will host back-to-back meets with Princeton coming to town next Friday at 3:30 p.m. This will mark the Owls' Paradise Meet with giveaways being passed out to the first 100 fans in attendance.
