Men’s Soccer Comes Up Short Against South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (4-6-1, 0-4-0) dropped Sunday night's Conference USA road matchup at South Carolina (6-6-2, 1-4-0). Despite inching on the board first, the Owls were unable to come up with an answer to the Gamecock's two goals.
South Carolina was able to control possession early, but FAU struck first at the 30th minute thanks to an unassisted goal by Ivan Mykailenko. The Gamecocks had an answer about seven minutes later and tied up the game just before halftime. At the half, FAU was being outshot 10-4.
The Gamecocks took the lead at the 51st minute and the score stood at 2-1 for the entirety of the contest. FAU got aggressive in the second half, outshooting the Gamecocks 10-5, but were unable to come up with the equalizer to keep the match going.
The Owls will be back at FAU Soccer Stadium for another C-USA matchup against No. 21 Marshall on Saturday at 7 p.m. Live stats and live video are available during the match.

- Joe O'Sullivan led the Owls in shots with six. Mykailenko followed him with three
- Daniel Ragoo was at goal this evening where he captured six saves
- Four Owls played all 90 minutes of the match, including Ragoo, Daniel Skistad, Adam O'Sullivan and Alonso Coello Camarero
