Men’s Soccer to Host Keiser on Friday

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team (3-5-0, 0-3-0) will take on Keiser (6-4-0, 3-1-0 FSC) Friday as part of the frontend of a doubleheader with the women's team. The match will begin at 5:30 p.m. and admission is free at FAU Soccer Stadium for both games.
About the Owls
Ivan Mykhailenko continues to power the Owls' offense, leading the team in goals (4), points (11), shots (13) and shooting percentage (.308). Alex Alexis picked up his fifth assists on the season against No. 9 Charlotte, which is a number that leads the team as he continues to set up opportunities on the offense.
Arturo Ernand picked up his first goal of the season last Saturday against the 49ers to equalize the game going into halftime. In the past three matches, several Owls have recorded their first goals of the season, including Axel Pantaleon, Edgardo Obregon and Jose Alastuey.
Goalkeeping duties have been split between Hagay Jalon and Daniel Ragoo. Jalon has posted 22 saves, a 2.15 Goals Against Average and one shutout, which was achieved in the first game of the season against No. 17 James Madison. Ragoo has a 2.94 Goals Against Average with 16 saves.
The Owls are currently outshooting opponents in the first period 41-38, but are being outshot in the second, 63-44. While the Owls are tied with opponents in goals with six scored in the first period, FAU has been falling behind in the second with four goals to 13. FAU has also embarked a tough schedule, as all but one of their most recent opponents have been ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll or received votes at one point of the season.
About the Seahawks
The Seahawks have also took on a tough schedule, while receiving votes in the most recent NAIA Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll. Keiser has achieved convincing victories throughout the season, including a 9-1 victory over Ave Maria and 6-1 win over Johnson & Wales, who the Owls saw in an exhibition match at the beginning of the season. The Seahawks are outshooting opponents 185 shots to 122, while also scoring more goals, 28-17.
Hannu Tam is leading the Seahawks in points (14) and shooting percentage (0.250), and is tied with Adrian Camacho Castro with six goals. A myriad of Seahawks have contributed on offense with 15 different players scoring goals this season.
Three different Seahawk goalkeepers have seen time at net with Ramon Talenti (3-3-0) earning majority of the starts with 543 minutes played. The senior has recorded 20 saves for a 0.645 save percentage and has posted a 1.82 Goals Against Average. Joan Carles Perez (3-1-0) has played 322 minutes, collecting nine saves and a 1.12 Goals Against Average.
