BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (4-16, 1-6 C-USA) will hit the road this week to take on Louisiana Tech (10-11, 2-6 C-USA) on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. (EST).

ABOUT THE OWLS
- FAU will be looking to start a winning streak after defeating rival FIU last Saturday
- Through 20 games, Juliette Gauthier is leading the Owls in scoring with 10.2 points per game. Myka Johnson Matthews is close behind, averaging 9.0 points. Abby Voss leads on the rebounding front, pulling down 6.2 boards per game. Glenisha Harkless has 41 assists on the season to lead the team
LAST TIME OUT
- The Owls hosted rival FIU last Saturday at the Burrow. FAU earned a 77-55 victory against the Panthers behind double digit scoring from four different players
- After a slow start, both teams picked up the pace in the second quarter and FIU took a one-point lead into the break. The Owls held FIU to only nine points in the third quarter and took the lead permanently. FAU scored 30 points in the fourth quarter, tying a school record for the most points in a quarter to seal the win
- Danneal Ford led the Owls with 22 points, a season high for the redshirt senior. Gauthier picked up her first career double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Amber Gaston had a career high 16 points and Jamaria Williams also set a personal best with 13 points
SERIES HISTORY
- Thursday will be the eighth meeting between FAU and Louisiana Tech. The Lady Techsters own a 6-1 record in the series with the Owls picking up its first win last season in Boca Raton
- The series dates back to 1987 when the Lady Techsters visited Boca Raton. The two teams didn't play again until 2014 when the Owls joined Conference USA
SCOUTING LOUISIANA TECH
- The Lady Techsters have a 2-6 record in conference play, winning games against Charlotte and UAB earlier in the season. LA Tech has lost two straight coming into Thursday's matchup
- LA Tech is led by C-USA-leading scorer Kierra Anthony. The senior is averaging 23.7 points per game and had a 50-point performance against Houston earlier this season. Overall, Anthony has had five 30-plus point games this season
- Grayson Bright leads on the boards, pulling down 6.3 rebounds per game

IMPRESSIVE ROOKIE CAMPAIGN
- Freshman Juliette Gauthier has had an impressive start to her Owl career. She currently leads the team in scoring with 10.2 points per game. The rookie is scoring 11.0 points per game during conference play which also leads the team
- She is just one of two C-USA freshmen to rank in the league's top 30 in scoring (10.2 ppg) and top 20 in rebounding (5.7 rpg)
- She leads the team with 10 games in double digit scoring this season
- Gauthier has really hit her groove during conference play. She's averaging 6.6 boards per C-USA game which is ninth in the league and her free throw percentage during conference games is seventh (80 percent)
IT'S GOOD!
- Freshman Amber Gaston has shown major strides of improvement throughout the season. Most impressively, Gaston has the second highest field goal percentage in the league during conference play, making 62.2 percent of her shots
- Overall, Gaston is fifth in C-USA in field goal percentage, shooting 54.5 percent on the season
