BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (3-13, 0-3 C-USA) will play the second game of a two-game road trip on Saturday afternoon at Charlotte (9-6, 1-2).

ABOUT THE OWLS
- FAU hits the road for the first time in 2019 to take on Old Dominion and Charlotte
- Through 16 games, Juliette Gauthier is the leading Owl scorer with 10.1 points per game. Myka Johnson Matthews is close behind, averaging 9.5 points. Abby Voss leads on the rebounding front, pulling down 6.6 boards per game
LAST TIME OUT
- The Owls hit the road for the first time in 2019 on Thursday at Old Dominion. The Monarchs raced out to an early lead and held on to it for the remainder of the game
- FAU was able to cut the lead to single digits in the third quarter but Old Dominion responded with a 16-0 run
- Johnson Matthews led the Owls with 10 points in the contest. Ra'Kyra Gabriel and Amber Gaston each pulled down fi ve boards, but the Owls were outrebounded, 54-31
- An achilles heel for the Owls this season has been turnovers, but FAU was able to take care of the ball against the Monarchs with a season-low 11 miscues
SERIES HISTORY
- Saturday will be the seventh meeting all-time between FAU and Charlotte. The 49ers have won five of the previous six against the Owls
- FAU's lone win against Charlotte came in 2015 in Boca Raton. The Owls won that one, 71-68
- Four of the seven games have been played in Charlotte, with only two in Boca Raton and one at a neutral site
SCOUTING CHARLOTTE
- The 49ers picked up their first win in league play on Thursday against FIU with a 69-54 vicotry
- Jade Phillips leads Charlotte, scoring 13.1 points per game along with 7.8 boards per game
- Laia Raventos and Mariah Linney are each averaging double figures in points. Raventos is putting up 11.3 per game and Linney is averaging 10.6
