Florida Atlantic University's preseason camp draws near the end with Media Day and a Fan Meet and Greet scheduled for Sunday and with the 2018-19 academic year starting on Monday. Thursday was a day for the defense to shine and they did so with several picks during the team sessions of practice.

"Good practice. No weather issues. Obviously, that has been an issue lately. We haven't tackled very much because we wanted to make sure that we were practicing smart. Saturday, we are going to tackle. We have been doing drills with it. Obviously, it is a concern. Anytime, even though we have a lot of returning starters, probably why we haven't as much. With lack of depth issues, especially at offensive spots, we have definitely limited that on purpose. I think Saturday will show us a lot on that because it will be our one test of that."
Sunday's Events
Sunday will be the 2018 Media Day beginning at 1 p.m. with Head Coach Lane Kiffin. Coach Kiffin will be followed by both the offensive and defensive coordinators and then selected offensive and defensive players will take center stage at 1:45 p.m. Interview sessions are only available for credentialed members of the media.
Fans will be treated to an autograph session on the FAU Stadium Hyundai Deck, second floor, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Activities include face painting, games, and the autograph session with the Owls.

FAU will open its 2018 season at Oklahoma on Saturday, Sept. 1. FAU's home schedule will open the following week when the Owls play host to Air Force. For season tickets, call 1-866-FAU-OWLS. All games will be carried by ESPN West Palm 106.3 and also can be heard on the ESPN App.
What's Next
The Owls will return to the Tom Oxley Practice Fields on Friday at 9 a.m., and selected offensive players will be made available. Saturday's scrimmage will be completely closed, including to members of the media. Sunday will be the next opportunity as part of Media Day. Practices are not open to the general public.
