Chan Walker has been elevated to Florida Atlantic University Associate Head Coach, announced Head Softball Coach
Joan Joyce. Walker has served 15 seasons as an assistant coach at her alma mater, all under the direction of Joyce.

"This is an acknowledgement of Chan's contributions to the softball program," said Joyce. "She literally has been here since day one and has had as much to do with the success of as anybody."
A member of the Owls' inaugural team, Walker has been a part of the FAU softball program for 20 of the of team's 24 seasons and is still among the program's all-time leaders in career batting average and on-base percentage and is co-holder of the school record for career stolen base percentage (.955).

"I will always be grateful to Coach Joyce for giving me an opportunity 18 years ago," said Walker. "I have seen FAU grow by leaps and bounds and I am honored for the opportunity to see that growth continue. Forever an Owl!"Â

As an assistant coach, Walker has helped the Owls capture eight conference titles including the 2016 and 2018 regular season C-USA titles, and seven NCAA tournament appearances, including back-to-back Regional appearances in 2015 and 2016.
