Track and Field Merits USTFCCCA All-Academic Distinction

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's track and field team was recognized Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for All-Academic Team honors for the 2017-18 DI indoor and outdoor track season.

The Owl women finished the academic year with a 3.25 cumulative team GPA. Only five Conference USA women's squads earned USTFCCCA honors Thursday, with FIU, Rice, Southern Miss and UTEP also garnering this distinction.

"It's always great for our student athletes to receive acknowledgement, whether for their academic or athletic success," said Head Coach Alex Smolka. "I know this positive feedback will continue to inspire our team members to strive for excellence in the classroom, on the cross country course, in the field and on the track."
