Sigourney Kame Named MVP of U-23 Cazova Championships

    Florida Atlantic University volleyball player Sigourney Kame won five individual awards after leading her home country of Suriname to the gold medal in the inaugural Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association (CAZOVA) Under-23 Women's Championship.
    Kame, who also served as team captain, was named Top Scorer, Best Server, No. 2 Outside Hitter and Best Digger in addition to earning Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
    Suriname went undefeated at the three-day event, capped off by a sweep of Bonaire to complete its flawless run through the tournament.
    "(I) thank God for this Championship," Kame said. "We worked hard and everyone (on the team) was important."
    A rising junior, Kame will once again represent her country, this time with the Senior National Team at the Caribbean Cup, to be held Saturday, June 30 through Tuesday, July 3 in Suriname.
