BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University's Head Football Coach Lane Kiffin was given the key to the city by Boca Raton mayor Scott Singer on Tuesday, May 8th at FAU Stadium. Kiffin led the Owls to an 11-3 regular season record last season, while also winning FAU's first Conference USA title in program history. In addition to winning the C-USA championship, FAU won their first bowl game since 2008 in a 50-3 victory over the University of Akron at the Boca Bowl.
"Boca Raton has embraced FAU football. Seven of the team's 11 wins came at home, including the program's first C-USA championship win," said Lane Kiffin, FAU's head football coach. "It's great to be given the key to the city, because it shows how welcoming the community is to quality football and what we'll be able to build here. We are truly humbled and honored for such an award."
Note: FAU will open up next season at the University of Oklahoma on September 1st. To purchase tickets for the 2018 season call 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
