BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Freshman Ignacio Garcia clinched the winning point for the third consecutive match as the Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team shut out USC Upstate 7-0 on Friday.
- No. 78 Remi Chancerel and Gabriel Sidney beat Ignacio Garrido and Francisco Neto 6-3 to open doubles play
- Garcia and Jason Legall then topped Fernando Bernardes and Lucas Percy 6-3 to seal the doubles point for the Owls
- Arthur Stefani knocked off Upstate's Luka Eble 6-2, 6-2 to start singles action
- Sidney followed suit in a 6-4, 6-4 win over Neto in the No. 2 slot
- Garcia clinched the match in a 6-0, 7-5 win against Bernardes at No. 3 singles
- Legall then beat Felix Ewers 7-6, 2-6, 10-6 in the No. 1 spot
- Ignacio Jimenez topped Garrido 6-1, 6-2
- Thomas Bugeaud finished off the sweep with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Percy
