Volleyball Signs Massiel Matos

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University Head Volleyball Coach Fernanda Nelson has announced the signing of Massiel Matos to a National Letter of Intent.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Massiel to the FAU family," said Nelson. "She will bring a lot of experience and intensity to the program right away."
Matos comes to FAU from Miami-Dade College where she was a two-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Player of the Year and led the Sharks to a 55-5 in her two seasons and back-to-back NJCAA National Championships.
On the international level, Matos played for her native Dominican Republic for three consecutive years, and helped the DR win the NORCECA U-20 Continental Championship, where she was named as the tournament's best server and best rightside hitter.
Of Matos, Nelson said, "She is a phenomenal player, but more importantly, a great person."
