HOW IT WAS DECIDED
- The Owls opened the game hot from beyond the arc, knocking down back-to-back 3-pointers in the first two minutes of the game. Both teams traded baskets throughout the first quarter, but FAU ended the frame on a 9-1 scoring run to take a 22-13 lead
- North Carolina A&T made a few pushes in the second quarter, including a 6-2 push in the final two minutes of the half to cut the score to 32-28 heading into the break
- The Aggies took their first lead of the game in the third quarter. FAU was able to keep the Aggies at bay until a N.C. A&T layup at the 4:06 mark. In the final four minutes of the quarter, FAU was able to come back and tie it up twice but went into the final quarter down two points
- The fourth quarter featured two lead changes and two ties. A 3-pointer from Abby Voss at the 9:13 mark tied the game and the Owls took a lead one minute later on a layup from Amber Gaston. N.C. A&T tied the game again, but the Owls reclaimed the lead on a free throw from Glenisha Harkless. With 36 seconds left in the game, the Aggies connected on a corner three to retake the lead. That lead would hold for the remainder of the game
- Voss led the Owls with a career-high 18 points and 10 rebounds. It was the first double-double of the season by an Owl player and the freshman's first collegiate double-double. Voss eclipsed the 100-rebound mark on the season during the game and now has 102 on the year. She was 4-of-5 from beyond the arc and 7-of-8 from the field
- Danneal Ford joined Voss in double figures scoring with 11 points. She also had three assists and is now 18 career helpers away from crossing into FAU's top ten all-time
- Juliette Gauthier added eight points, seven rebounds and three assists. The freshman passed the 100-point mark on the season and now stands at 107 on the year
- Ra'Kyra Gabriel had three points and seven rebounds. During the game, the senior surpassed 400 career rebounds, pulling down 405 total in her career thus far
- Harkless finished with eight points, three assists, two rebounds, two blocks and a steal
The Owls will continue play in the FAU Holiday Classic on Saturday at noon against Saint Louis.
