BOCA RATON, Fla. – Juliette Gauthier led the Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (3-10) on Saturday against Saint Louis (5-8). The freshman had a career-high 19 points in the loss.
HOW IT WAS DECIDED
Gauthier scored the first four points of the game for the Owls. After trading baskets with Saint Louis, the Owls took a lead on a Ra'Kyra Gabriel 3-pointer. The Billikens used a 7-0 run to retake the lead, but Amber Gaston and Jayla Adams scored to tie the game. Once again, Saint Louis responded with a run, this time scoring 12-straight points. The Owls went into the second quarter down, 30-16
Saint Louis extended its lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Owls, 23-8, in the frame
The Owls cut into the Billiken lead in the third quarter, outdoing Saint Louis 24-16 in the frame. Aided by a couple of 3-pointers from Gauthier and Ra'Kyra Gabriel, the Owls had an 11-0 run to start the quarter and outscored the Billikens 21-5 for the middle part of the period
The Billikens pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring FAU 24-13 to conclude the game

GAME NOTES
Gauthier put up a career-high 19 points along with seven rebounds and two assists. She was 8-of-11 from the field with her only three misses coming from beyond the arc
Gabriel finished with 11 points, including two 3-pointers. She also had eight rebounds, two blocks, one assist and a steal
Gaston also had 11 points in the game and three rebounds
Glenisha Harkless added five points, five rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal
Danneal Ford had three helpers in the game, bringing her career total to 220. She's 15 assists away from breaking into the FAU top ten all time
Ford, Harkless, Myka Johnson Matthews, Gauthier and Gabriel got the starting nod in the game. It was ninth different starting combination of the season for the Owls
Connecting on four 3-pointers, FAU has now made a 3-point basket in 265 straight games dating back to 2009
The Owls had a season-low 14 turnovers in the game
