Baseball’s Schneider Chosen as Preseason Second Team All-American

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Rising senior relief pitcher Zach Schneider, of the Florida Atlantic University baseball team, was named on Monday as a Second Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball, as part of the outlet's preseason recognition being unveiled this week for the upcoming 2019 season.

In his debut season with the Owls a year ago, Schneider recorded 15 saves and posted a 6-1 record out of the bullpen (7-1 overall) with a 2.08 relief ERA. His 15 saves is the second-highest mark in FAU program history and already slots Schneider third on the Owls' career save list.

For his efforts last year, Schneider was honored as a Second Team All-American by the NCBWA, was chosen ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-Region, and was voted First Team All-Conference USA by the league coaches.

"I am honored to be named a Preseason All-American," said Schneider, "and I'm really excited for this upcoming season."
