BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team (2-4) staged a comeback to tie the game in the third quarter, but ultimately fell to Bradley (4-0), 80-59, on Saturday in the FAU Thanksgiving Tournament championship game.
HOW IT WAS DECIDED
Bradley had a hot start, using a 13-0 run to open the game. A free throw from Ra'Kyra Gabriel and back-to-back 3-pointers from Tyana Robinson put FAU on the board and cut into the Braves' lead. Bradley took a 24-15 lead into the second period
The Owls cut it to five early in the second quarter but Bradley kept FAU at bay for most of the period. Midway through the frame, Amber Gaston scored six-straight points and assisted on the next basket scored by Robinson. In the last three minutes, the Owls went on an 8-0 run to get within three points at halftime, 38-35
At the 5:28 mark of the third quarter, Juliette Gauthier hit a corner three to knot the game up at 46. From that point, Bradley outscored FAU 15-8 in the quarter. The Braves had a dominant fourth quarter to close out the game
